well. erm...

TENNIS CAMP.
Hope you guys actually enjoyed the camp.
Well MOST of you guys.
haha the people who didnt go, I bet you guys are regretting not going.
so then...
our new CAPTAIN is Zhiwei.
and i am in the committee for the intermediate team.
I mentioned all the required stuff in an email, hopefully all of you guys received it. And i also attached the contact list and a birthday list.
I shall then blog about the camp.
The camp was a torture (the punishment part), BUT it was FUN.
As observed, most of you guys improved.
And it was a great experience for the ones who played against the school team players.
well I played against Ida, the new girls team captain, although i got trashed 4-1, I found it a really great experience.
I guess same goes to Trina and Zhiwei who played against Sarah and Kenny respectively.
So starting from Sunday,
we got divided into different groups together with the main team players.
Played some ice-breaker games, had several embarrassing moments doing the forfeits.
Like for me, i had to smack kenny on the butt, *yucks*
and for Siok she had to sing a love song to Coach Royston. Darrell had to propose to May if im not wrong.
then coach did some admin stuff with us.
and off to sleep.
well not really, most of us couldnt sleep well. agreed?
haha. stupid mosquitoes.
so then the next day started at about 6.30.
woke up, washed up, and PT.
haha.
ran round some kinda park.
then did some stretches, then breakfast time!!
oily food.
haha.
some scandals here and there.
andrea and kenny.
yiteng and pinquan.
all by who?
Coach Ewan.
hahahahhaa.
oh and not to forget we got punished by Coach Royston for not greeting each other, the teachers and also the coaches.
so then the day continued by drills.
Year 2s from the school team had to feed us the balls and we hit.
Practised our groundstrokes, volleys, smashes, serves and the return of serves.
Had lunch in between, like about 1.
Then continued.
took turns to go to the other court to join the school team players too.
and as we all know. poor school team players.
seeing them having to take off their socks and shoes.
playing under the hot sun, on the hot grounds of the courts.
some cried. but still went on.
so training for the day ended at about 5 to 6.
then it was the BBQ.
Followed by a team bonding session.
Played Royal Rumble, the game where by we were divided into 2 different groups and then each group on one side of the court.
and played a tennis match. with so many people on a court!
then slowly one by one we got kicked out.
haha. it was really fun!
then another game, forgot the name of it.
oopsies. hehe.
it was a in out game.
if it was a fault or sth then we had to sit in the court.
and if we got hit. haha the whole team loses.
after that had a nice cold shower.
and i really mean cold.
haha. then off to bed.
getting kissed by the mosquitoes.
then the 3rd day started of with a short PT.
and a torturous punishment.
pushups and crunches from Coach Royston.
for every mistake we made 10 each.
It was tough, i know, but i guess we really deserved it.
After many apologies, we did some skipping.
and then breakfast.
Then we did a warm up for the match play.
but sadly it started raining.
so we had to run for shelter.
then it stopped. everyone went out again to help dry the courts.
the guys, don and zhiwei broke the handle of the roller!!
hahaha.
it was hilarious.
and the kenny and andrea scandal started then.
i shall not elaborate on that.
after drying half of it, it started raining again!! argh...
the year 2 main team players then got us to play captains ball in the indoor court with a soccer ball and decided to have the match play at night starting from 11 to about.. 4 am?
and during the captain's ball game, poor wendy fell off the bench.
hurt her chin very badly, got 4 stitches and had to be sent home after that.
so then we stopped the game and went off to rest.
regain the energy for the match play at night.
After a good rest, we had dinner then the group leaders briefed us on the voting of the new tennis committee.
haha and we had to introduced ourselves.
and pinquan blur as usual said he was from the intermediate team and weilin said she was from the 1st team.
HAHA. it was hilarious.
then it was time. the VOTING.
i shall list all the award winners and the committee members then.

then madelyn and yiteng gave out tokens of appreciation to the coaches and teachers.
and they gave us all a little token too. THANKS GUYS!! i mean girls. haha
so at about 11, we started the match plays.
did round robin, and from the results, we got divided into 2 groups.
the winners and the losers pool.
zhiwei madelyn trina and i managed to get into the winners pool.
and as i mentioned it was a scary match.
playing against the school team players was rather tough.
one moment you just see the ball flying towards you.
haha. and im not exaggerating or anything.
so then we played and all of us had to watch the finals.
pinquan and kaijie.
it was a tough fight.
interesting. seeing the ways they tackle their opponents.
oh and not to forget sarah asked ME to be linesman with her. it was very hard.
the ball was so so so fast. it was quite stressful.
haha.
so it was about 4 sth 5.
and all of us went to have a refreshing shower. and most people just 'drop dead' upon lying on their sleeping bags.
and a few of us slept downstairs.
the sun rised.
the last day of camp.
well we had our breakfast.
then an area cleanup. a short debrief.
and then the new committee and a short 'lecture' from the coaches and teachers.
and off we go.
home sweet home.
most of us took the bus and mrt back together.
aching all over.
haha.
and i guess once you guys reached home, you're just automatically attracted to your soft comfy beds.
while went round asking for the numbers of the committee members. hahaha.
then later on fell into a deep deep sleep.
well then. im done with this long post on the camp details.
haha.
one thing. NEVER GIVE UP.
as noticed, for PT and all, even if you guys are tired please do make an effort to force yourselves to do it.
looking at the school team players, who we did the PT with and also the punishments, it was tough, they cried but still forced themselves to do it. Some even with the painful burnt soles of the feet, they still continued.
so then, do try your best in everything. force yourselves to improve.
and as to fulfil madelyn's request...
do mix around with all the players, try not to leave out anyone.
she really wants to see our whole team being bonded together as one.
keep that in mind yea? :)
and to the year 2s who are leaving us.
thanks for all you have done for us,
all the effort you have put in for the team.
and those little pretty tokens you have made for us.
we will really miss you guys, and hope you guys come back after your As.

hopefully you guys would still continue taking up tennis.
as a passion, leisure or what so ever.
it'll be a pity if after you guys have come so far, giving up on it.

heyz! thanks a million to all who had helped to set up this blog! =)

hmm.. this camp will mark the end of the yr2s' pdp life in tj. seriously, i would say tt ive enjoyed tennis as a pdp a lot! it was definitely not an easy feat to set up this pdp in 2005.. we really have to thank ms desouza for all that she had done to make this possible for us.

i hope tt all the yr2s have enjoyed tennis as your pdp as much as ive did and after this camp, lets all focus hard on our studies k? yup, hope tt u guys will remain cheery even though it mayb quite tiring or boring to study!:) for those who cant make it for the camp, i'm sure tt if we make it a point to keep in touch, we'll still b frens foreva!=)

yup, to my dearest year 1s and ips!!

i really hope tt u guys will continue to work together as a team n support one another along the way. [jus like how u had supported one another throughout the overnight run!] always rem tt u guys are ONE team and together u guys shall advance! haha, a senior once told me tt " the strength of the squad[ team] is the strength of the last man" and i really believe in wat he had said. I hope tt when the year 2s are not around, the better ones will help to push the rest along!=)

haha, even though the time we've spent together was quite short, i really think tt all of u are a very fun n interesting bunch of ppl! esp how we played the bball game, those mind boggling games n walked around the sch searching for ghosts! continue to smile k? [p.s. must plan a tennis outing/ gathering again when our As is over!!]

oh ya, to all those who have been telling me tt u've been failing ur tests in tj, i think tt its really ok to fail as long as u really uds wat went wrong and not make the same mistakes again. haha, at least it works for me n i think it'll work for u too! continue to work hard and im sure success will b near. always look forward and cherish the ppl around u!=)

lastly, have fun!! n also prove to me tt it was a right decision to set up this team in 2005. i hope to see most of u making your way into the sch team in the near future! work hard k?
